Re-fit existing fibre infrastructure
Logical Networks Namibia
We were requested to re-splice the existing fibre infrastructure. 3M
Volition panels and termination boxes were used, and the ends and
through-splicing was completed in manholes where required.
FibreAid trained the Logical Networks Namibia staff members with
regards to splicing and 3M VF-45 termination. This was to ensure the
Logical Networks staff can repair future breakages.
Completed 120

Fibre services were provided on the Kizomba A Oil platform off the
coast of Angola.
In order to work on the platform we were required to provide a
qualified technician with a valid HUET and sea survival certificate.

Zambia
Link all sub stations with OPGW
Intrinsic Technologies
The project was for the Copper Belt Energy Corp. and they were linking
all there sub stations with OPGW.
Here we had to splice fibres in the ODF's and on the pylons between the
substations.
On average we were splicing about 96 splices a day, in three weeks we
successfully competed about 800 splices.
This was only accessible due to good project planning and a high regard
for quality workmanship.

Chemical Factory in Nairobi
Fibre Installation
Bushnet
In this Project, the client wanted to upgrade their Local Area Network,
so as to be able to integrate SAP in their Organization.
Fibres were installed between various locations, and AMP connectors
were used in the termination process.
FibreAid also trained the on-site staff with regards to the fibre
splicing.
Completed 12
splices and 12 tests.

Presidential State Offices in Kigali
Splicing and termination of fibres
Bushnet
This project was undertaken with Netconnect South Africa. Numerous
fibres were installed from the server room distribution frame to
various buildings within the complex.
Fibres were terminated with Huber-Shuner connectors into patch-panels
at each location. Where needed through-splices were used to connect
other fibres. Once complete, the offices had a data and telephone
network running over the fibre backbone.
Completed 96
splices and 80 tests in 12 days.

Lagos International & Port Harcourt Airports
Virgin Atlantic Office Upgrade
Dimension Data
Virgin Atlantic was upgrading and building new offices and FibreAid was
requested to complete the fibre optic
splicing for this installation.
Splicing was completed on multi-mode armoured cable and terminated into
fibre patch panels.
Most work was done at Lagos International Airport, where a number of
cables were run from the server room distribution frame.
Completed 128
splices and tests in 3 Days.

Mining Sites
Terminated all the fibres, training and testing in addition to the
installation of fibres for new gold-processing plant

We have also completed numerous projects in Ghana on mining sites over
the past 4 years. One of our bigger projects was for the Bogoso Gold
mine where we terminated all the fibres for the plant's new IT network
upgrade.
We also spliced a 60-kilometer OPGW line between the Bogoso and Wasa
gold mines.
